Conditioner (and shaving) Bar

Did you know that by buying this product, you are helping us divert Water Buffalo fat from the landfill? In the landfill it would undergo anaerobic decomposition releasing methane, a greenhouse gas that is estimated to be 25-30 times WORSE than carbon dioxide for climate change. Of course first we convert the fat into usable tallow, and use the tallow in some products, NOT straight fat (that would be icky).

Here is the bar in 3 separate poses:

  • In its native habitat, a mesh bag. It can be used IN the bag itself, or removed. Storing it in the mesh bag between uses ensures it will dry nicely, as it should, between uses
  • In the rather boring, but functional and minimalist packaging
  • Naked, on a soap dish

Fragrances available

The items are fragranced with fragrance oils made in the U.S.A. unless the description states essential oils.
Unfragranced
  • Unfragranced: They smell very slightly of cocoa butter without fragrance being added. (Available upon request)
Fruity
  • Grapefruit: Smells like pink grapefruit.
  • Lemongrass n’Lavender: A blend of lemongrass and lavender essential oils.
Herbaceous
  • Comox Rain: An earthy mix of basil, jasmine, lily, rose, and sandalwood.
  • Oceanus: A blend of water lily, violet, jasmine, lily of the valley, rose, geranium, sandalwood, musk.
  • Herbal Essences: A fresh mix of lime, grapefruit, bergamot, heather, jasmine, ylang ylang, and wood. Very much like the 1980s version of Clairol’s Herbal Essences shampoo.

Ingredients

Our proprietary blend of 3 plant-based conditioners, brassica alcohol, Water Buffalo tallow (local and organic), cocoa butter, coconut oil, essential/fragrance oils. PRESERVATIVES NOT NEEDED.
I loose sleep at night worrying that you might move away and I would never be able to get this bar again.

I have tried a few different condition bars in my time and didnt like any of them - even Lush conditioner bars left much to be desired. Not enough conditioning action and have always defaulted back to liquid products which seem to work better for me.

Skin Goops conditioner bars have changed that for me! The first bar style conditioner that makes my hair feel amazing!! And the fact that it doubles as shaving cream is double awesome…. just shaved all the things and it performed better than the shaving cream I had (which I just threw out lol).

A MUST for travellers, but are amazing at home too. The Shampoo bar gives the most luscious lather and like all Skin Goop products, goes a long way. Because my hair is very fine I was initially reluctant to try this conditioner, especially with Water Buffalo Tallow. However, I was quite surprised with the results as my hair turned out shiny clean with no residue build-up or oily film whatsoever.

Most times, I would never apply conditioner to my scalp. But yours makes it not itchy!I have very dry scalp and hair. I get psoriasis flare ups several times a year. It’s worse in fall/winter. Small sores even if I’m not scratching. The conditioner seems to coat my scalp and keep it happy.
I’ve been using the shampoo bar and conditioner bar for a few weeks now and there hasn’t been any outbreaks of sores, and the really dry areas in my front hairline are healing up nicely.
I think the trick is to keep my scalp nice and happy with a good layer of the conditioner bar. Even though its scented (which I usually avoid like the plague), it doesn’t seem to irritate.
Honestly, I love how decluttered my bath tub is now that the shampoo bottles are gone. We’ve always been bar soap people, so all I have left on the tub edge is bar soap on its drying dish, my facewash and the bars hanging up out of the water. It’s pretty glorious. Gives thekids more surface to play.

Apply the bar in a combing motion over your wet hair, concentrating on the ends. Run your fingers repeatedly through your hair to distribute the conditioner. Leave it on while you wash the rest of yourself. Rinse off, leaving behind as much conditioner as your hair needs.

Notice that the conditioner is not applied to the scalp much. It’s the ends of the hairs that suffer the most abuse from combing, brushing, drying, towelling, and being subjected to terrible movies.

How long will a bar last?
